I'm just gonna come out with it: I have this super lame addiction to watching Storage Wars, especially late night reruns. I was a little bummed (read: very) when I heard that the show is rigged, but it still didn't make me love it any less. Heck, this cast is a riot! Which is why today's big Storage Wars news makes me bummed. Apparently A&E is cutting back on the screen time for its three main players. Yup, fans will be seeing a lot less of Darrell Sheets, Dan, and Laura Dotson next season.
According to Radar Online, Sheets was frozen out of six extra episodes of the show. Rumor has it that the gambler was pissed, and that the big motivation for cutting him out after all of the drama that happened with Dave Hester's lawsuit was money.
I mean, I get it I guess. But in my eyes this is a pretty dangerous move on A&E's part to save money. Getting rid of the main characters isn't going to make fans want to stick around. Unless, that is, the containers get REALLY interesting.
OK, so we know that's not gonna happen. Heck, it's not like A&E producers can just whip out a few historical artifacts worth millions of dollars for a simple little reality show. Sorry, Martha Washington's old linens don't just appear outta nowhere, youknowwhatI'msayin?
But you know that expression "If it's not broke, don't fix it"? The show's been awesome as it is. Yeah, there's a whole lot of storage drama going on. Yeah, lawsuits kind of complicate things. But really, I think all need to focus on what's important here: the amazingess that is old forgotten items.
Are you surprised A&E is cutting out these three cast members?
