I may not be a huge fan of everything that Kim Kardashian puts on her body, but I am a huge fan of her home style. I was head-over-heels for the mansion she bought and spruced up on the previous season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The flowing white drapes and the perfect granite countertops made me drool.
Well apparently Kim recently sold her outstanding bachelorette pad for a casual $5 million. Get this: She sold the house with EVERYTHING inside of it. That's right, Kim's huge vanity dresser, coffee tables, custom made tables, all of it.
Now generally I'd be all like WTF -- how could you let all of this go!? But the reality is that this is the home she shared with Kris Humphries. Now she has a brand new Bel Air mansion to move into with Kanye West (maybe). In this situation, I'd say that moving on and getting rid of the baggage, well, it's not such a bad idea.
Remember when Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa sold the home they shared together when they first announced their divorce? Despite the fact that since then the couple has reconciled, Vanessa was trying to start over and rid herself of that bad energy. If I had to guess, that's the same thing that Kim was trying to do with this home. It's there where Kris proposed to her and where their relationship developed. Knowing that, having those memories, it's hard to completely move on being surrounded by all of that.
Sure, including all of the belongings along with the house must've been difficult. I'd imagine she had some great stuff in there that had some personal value. The reality, though? Kim wanted to get rid of the property as fast as possible, and she (and her boyfriend) has the money to replace it all and start fresh. We normal folk, well, don't always have that option.
I'm interested to see what Kim and Kanye's pad turns out to look like. I for one am expecting "K" monograms in every single room.
Do you think Kim's crazy for parting with her stuff?
