You may not be able to take Brad Pitt home, but you can have a little bit of the sexy superstar in every room of your house. The actor has created his own line of furniture.
Partnering with craftsman Frank Pollaro, Pitt is offering a dining table, a cocktail table, side tables, club chairs, and even a bathtub for two, according to Architectual Digest. The pieces look amazing and this new venture has revealed something totally unexpected about the father of six.
The furnishings are gorgeous. The Art Deco bed has a gently curved headboard and the nickel side tables were constructed with silk under the glass tops. Very chic, very sophisticated, and much more feminine than I would expect from the Inglourious Basterds star.
But it's been a passion project of Pitt's for years. “I've been doodling ideas for buildings and furniture since the early 1990s, when I first discovered [Charles Rennie] Mackintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright,” he told the magazine. “Actually, I found Wright in college, when looking for a lazy two-point credit to get out of French. It forever changed my life.”
The entire line will be unveiled November 13 at Pitt-Pollaro.com, and if the sneak peek on ArchitectualDigest.com is any indication, people will love it. (That is, if they can afford it. It's not clear how pricey the items will be.) Though, I do have one gripe. Yes, those geometric lines and glass tops look incredibly cool, but they're totally impractical for a parent children under age 15. Unless I had the most behaved kids in the world, I can't imagine placing those dainty glass tables in my house.
