As residents of New Jersey and New York try to come to terms with the devastation left behind by Hurricane Sandy, it's quite obvious that the monster storm did not discriminate when it came to whose homes and lives were turned upside down.
And even though they don't live in Seaside Heights anymore and didn't experience the worst of Sandy, Jersey Shore couple Jenni (JWoww) and Roger still had extensive damage done to their home in Toms River, New Jersey.
Actually, conditions after the storm were so bad that Roger even resorted to taking a jet ski to see how their house had fared after the storm. (Can you even imagine?)
But even though they're at a point where they can now safely get back into their home, there is still quite a bit of work to be done to make it habitable again. Actually, Roger says they've pretty much had to gut the place.
And when I say gut -- I mean GUT. OMG -- are you even believing this photo that Roger tweeted of the contents of their house sitting in their yard? They've ripped up the floors, taken out the kitchen cabinets, and they're even dealing with a flooded furnace, so it doesn't look like they'll have heat in the place any time soon.
But even though they lost so much after the storm, they are definitely keeping things in perspective. Roger said, "One day at a time. Material things can be replaced. My heart goes out to those who lost someone in this tragedy."
Wow. It's amazing how much more "real" reality TV stars seem when they are impacted by a tragedy as big as Hurricane Sandy. It's pretty refreshing to hear that they are keeping others hit hard by the storm in their thoughts instead of focusing on everything they personally lost.
What words of encouragement do you have for all those who lost their homes during Hurricane Sandy?
