Don’t Worry, Moms! Toyota Recall Is No Cause for Panic

If you immediately started freaking out after you heard about the massive Toyota recall that is affecting 2.5 million cars in the United States, you may want to take a deep breath instead and see this recall as something positive versus being annoyed that you have to take the car in to get fixed right away.

Even though quite a few makes and models produced between the years of 2007 - 2009 are being recalled due to a driver's side window switch that might be defective, you should use this recall to your advantage instead of getting all bent out of shape about it -- because believe it or not, it's really not all that bad.

Here are a few reasons why the Toyota recall is no cause for panic.

  1. It's a great excuse to use when trying to convince your husband you need a brand new car, especially if you've been wanting one for quite some time. Trade in that old Toyota for a new Toyota!
  2. If you do have one of the recalled models, you should be ok until you can get to the dealership to have the flaw fixed. It's just a faulty window switch and hasn't resulted in any crashes or injury thus far -- so it's not like you have to be afraid while driving.
  3. Back to the safety issue -- if you DO own one of the cars on the recall list, at least now you know about the problem and can get your car fixed. And the dealership will be expecting you, so you shouldn't have any hassle securing an appointment.

But before you get ahead of yourself, make sure to check your car's VIN number on Toyota's recall website to see if it is even included in the problem bunch. And if it is? Just call your dealer right away and make that appointment to have the issue taken care of. After that, you'll be driving worry-free in no time.

Do you think you have one of the recalled vehicles?
