In what HAS to be a last-ditch effort to somehow straighten out what's left of her young adult life, actress Amanda Bynes has reportedly decided to move to New York City and kiss Los Angeles goodbye -- wait for it -- permanently. (California drivers rejoice!)
According to RadarOnline, Amanda wants to relocate to the Big Apple because she "thinks she can live a more normal life on the east coast and won't be hounded by the paps." (Apparently she's unaware of the fact that there are plenty of photographers in New York too. Maybe someone should fill her in?)
And get this one -- another motive for making the move is that she's supposedly retiring from acting altogether.
Retiring from acting at only 26 years old? But what will she do? Well, she's hoping to pursue a career in fashion design, so I guess moving to New York makes a lot of sense. I mean, it's obviously the place to be if you're looking to make a name for yourself with a successful clothing label.

But if Amanda is under the impression that life will be easier in NYC, she may be in for a bit of a rude awakening. Compared to L.A., life in New York is much more fast-paced, and considering her shaky past, she's likely to get eaten alive by east coasters who aren't exactly impressed with her Lohan-like behavior. It's going to take a heck of a lot more than retiring from acting to get people to take her seriously -- and there's a good chance she won't be welcomed with open arms.
However, there's a silver lining to everything, and moving to New York does have one HUGE perk Amanda should be thrilled about -- she won't need a car anymore. And that's good news for everyone in this country, no matter which coast you live on.
Still, this video clip should serve as fair warning to NYC paparazzi to have their guard up when zooming in for a close-up of Amanda -- she obviously isn't shy about giving lurking photographers a piece of her mind.
Do you think Amanda will be able to get her act together in New York?
