After the birth of her octuplets in 2009, Natalie, formerly known as Nadya, turned to adult entertainment and exotic dancing to make ends meet.

Prior to giving birth to her octuplets, Suleman had six children, and she went on to receive public scrutiny for being a single mom of 14 living on government assistance. She was accused of welfare fraud in 2014, which resulted in probation and community service.

Stuck in what seemed to be an endless cycle at the time, Natalie now says an unnamed man's pleas in the strip club changed her life.

"I was in a strip club in Florida in February 2013, and this very tall man, this stranger came in," the mom of 14 explained to New Idea. "He walked straight to me and looked straight into my eyes. He took my hand and grabbed my arm and said in a very gentle, but firm way: 'You don't have to do this.' He repeated it five times. I knew I had to be my healthy self again."

Natalie's latest revelation about her past struggles mirror the shame she felt years ago -- and another turning point she'll never forget.

Last year, Natalie spoke with ABC News about her fight to provide for her children, relying on Xanax to "numb" the reality of what she did for money, and how she felt finding her 10-year-old daughter playing dress-up in one of her exotic dance outfits.

"... My heart sank. I felt like throwing up," Suleman admitted during her interview about seeing her daughter. "That was the moment when I said I would rather be homeless living in the van with all my kids, than allow any of my girls to feel that they are not worthy enough and that they have to go down that path."

Luckily, Natalie was able to get the second chance she yearned for, and she turned her life around for the better.-placeholder

People notes Natalie is now a part-time family therapist who takes care of her children and looks to her past as something that doesn't define her. "I earned $8,000 from basically selling my whole soul for that little pseudo-porn experience," Suleman told the outlet. "I definitely regret that 100 percent. At the time, we were in foreclosure, we were about to be homeless, and it allowed us to move into a rental, but of course I do regret that more than anything. But I learned. It validated and reinforced who I am not."
