Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise are officially resident New Yorkers, and if you have the cash, now there's an opportunity to be one of their newest neighbors. Actress Kate Winslet has just put her luxurious apartment up for rent, and if you have $30,000 a month to spare, you can move right in.
Kate originally bought the duplex located in Katie & Suri's Chelsea neighborhood back in 2004 when she was married to Sam Mendes. They paid $4.995 million for the pad, and when they divorced, he signed the deed over to her. And since she's opting to rent it out instead of selling it, my guess is she isn't quite ready to cut all ties with New York City quite yet.
So, what does $30,000 a month get you, besides being able to brag about living in Kate Winslet's apartment? For starters, the place has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. It also offers a 1,700-square-foot terrace (for spying on Suri and Katie), and boasts 13-foot ceilings and nice, big corner windows.
But while living the celebrity lifestyle in the Big Apple may be appealing to some, others may find residing in such close proximity to Katie and Suri to be a bit bothersome. The paparazzi have no doubt made the neighborhood their resident stomping grounds in their quest to constantly stalk the mother-daughter pair, so unless you're ready to deal with flashing lights and plenty of gawkers, Kate's home may not be your ideal rental unit. (Perhaps that's what drove Winslet out?)
Would you want Katie Holmes as a neighbor?
