If there was any question about whether she and Conor Kennedy are the real deal, then the new report saying Taylor Swift just purchased a home in Hyannis Port, Cape Cod right across the street from the Kennedy compound ought to clear things up.
And judging from the size of the place, I'm guessing she's expecting quite a few out of town guests. It has seven bedrooms and five bathrooms and sits on a piece of property overlooking Nantucket Sound. Not too shabby for a 22-year-old girl. And she even got herself a deal by paying $4.9 million for the home. It had supposedly been on the market for two to four years and was originally priced at $14 million. (I guess having the Kennedys as neighbors isn't as appealing as one might think.)
Buying a house is a pretty big commitment, especially since it sounds like this one has been sitting vacant for quite sometime. Things between Taylor and Conor must be heating up and progressing fairly quickly if she was willing to purchase a piece of real estate that she can't just turn around and sell if things don't go according to plan. Planting down roots in Cape Cod proves that she's 100 percent serious about pursuing a long term relationship with Conor, and possibly even being an official part of the Kennedy clan someday.
Yeah, yeah, I know she's young and Conor is only 18, but a lot of the cool kids are tying the knot early these days. And lucky for Taylor, it sounds like she already has his family's approval. Ethel Kennedy supposedly said they'd be lucky to have her as a part of their family, and Rory Kennedy, Conor's aunt, said, "She's a great friend of all of ours. We love her. She's awesome."
But considering how accustomed she is to those warm Nashville temperatures, I can't help but wonder how Taylor will feel about holing up in her new pad in Hyannis Port once winter rolls around. It can get pretty damp and chilly on the Cape -- but that's a small price to pay for being in love, I guess.

Do you think buying this house means Taylor is off the market for good?
