If Mark Wahlberg Can't Sell His Amazing House, There's No Hope for the Rest of Us

Mark WahlbergActor Mark Wahlberg is trying to sell his unbelievably luxurious Beverly Hills estate, but for some reason, he just isn't getting any nibbles on the place. The home is currently listed at $12.995 million, but Mark originally had it on the market back in 2008 for $16 million, so he's obviously willing to take a bit of a loss to unload it this time around.

With all those rich and famous folks running around in Los Angeles, you'd think that somebody would be drawn to this posh pad. With seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms, there's more than enough room to turn this mansion into a serious spot for entertaining -- and the outdoor grounds only add to the home's appeal.

The backyard pretty much resembles what you'd expect to see at a fine resort -- complete with a gorgeous swimming pool with waterfalls & water slides, poolside cabanas, a putting green, and even a grotto spa (a la Playboy mansion).

There's also a private two-bedroom, two-bath guest house -- which is the perfect place to stash out-of-towners when you don't want them interfering with your daily routine.

And on those rare days when it does rain in southern California, the home also boasts a recording studio, state-of-the-art kitchen, screening room, basketball/racquetball court, and a two-story gym that has its own boxing ring.

Judging from how incredible this place is, I can't quite understand why Mark wants to sell it in the first place. But by the same token, it's pretty astonishing that no one bought the property back in 2008 -- and that he hasn't had any takers this time either!

I guess even celebrities aren't exempt from feeling the weight of the real estate slump right now. And if this home doesn't get scooped up in the near future, there really isn't much hope for the rest of us as far as selling our own homes goes.

Why do you think Mark's house is still up for sale?
