Is your backyard a space where you can truly relax and unwind at the end of the day? You know -- like how you feel when you're on vacation staying at a swanky resort?

That's definitely one of the best parts of traveling -- being able to kick off your shoes, put your feet up, and take in the eye-pleasing sights of perfectly manicured grounds, lush tropical foliage, and warm breezes.

But considering how few and far between vacations are for most of us, the majority of the time the only place we really have to chill out is in our own backyards.

And while we can't exactly build a golf course or put in an inground pool overnight, there are a few things we can do to make our outdoor spaces as inviting and relaxing as possible.
