It must be pretty nice to be a celebrity & shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars on a fancy vacation rental every summer -- especially if you're Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon, who have just rented a fabulous estate in the Hamptons for the months of July and August at the cost of nearly $300,000.
The 7,500-square-foot home rents for $125,000 in July and $150,000 in August, and comes complete with six bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms, making it the perfect place to entertain overnight guests who want to mooch off Mariah & Nick's fame & fortune visit with their dear friends & enjoy a weekend of fun in the sun.
And in addition to having plenty of space to spread out, the house also has a gorgeous pool & spa set on a sprawling lawn (perfect for twins Moroccan & Monroe to run around on) and even sunbathing decks for achieving the perfect tan.
The home also boasts marble countertops, multi-headed showers & jetted tubs in the bathrooms, state-of-the-art appliances, and custom glass french doors.
Wow. This place is really a far cry from the vacation homes most of us wind up renting at the shore in the summer. When I think "rental home," a tiny gray-shingled cottage with two bedrooms and one bathroom (and if you're lucky, an outdoor shower) is the first thing that pops into my mind. Staying in a place that's cute & cozy really adds something special into the whole experience, so I can't help but wonder if celebs like Nick & Mariah get the same feel while chilling out in their mega-mansion?
Hmm. Somehow I doubt they are really capable of appreciating the whole "quaint and charming" vibe. But to be fair, I doubt I'd miss renting a cottage either if I could afford a palace.
Do you stay in hotels on vacation, or do you prefer to rent a cottage or home?
