Summer Family Fun Guide

Somehow, we are already into the middle of June, so if you haven't already planned a pool party or begun planning a pool party or already attended at least one, you better get on it! Summer's not gonna be here forever, people. We have to seize the warmest days of the year!

Now, no matter who you're throwin' said pool party for -- tots or your closest circle of friends -- you're going to need a soundtrack of fun, fitting poolside tunes. Here, 10 tracks you can't miss when building the ultimate pool party playlist!

1. "Splish Splash" by Bobby Darin - One that was pretty much written for this occasion, no?
2. "Hot in Herre" by Nelly - Okay, yeah, he sings that it's so hot, we should take off all our clothes, but no one's going to take the classic hip-hop lyrics literally ... probably ... hopefully.
3. "Walking on the Sun" by Smash Mouth - Keeping with the "it's so hot out here!" theme, this is a go-to summer tune.
4. "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina & the Waves - The song title and the band name work with this track! Plus, it might just be me being a child of the '80s, but I can't help but dance and get goofy-happy whenever this comes on. 
5. "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO - No party playlist will be complete without this insanely catchy hit ever again! You'll have everyone "shufflin'" in the pool.
6. "Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffett - Must include. Especially if you have every intention of "wastin' away again."
7. "Fun, Fun, Fun" by the Beach Boys - Because obviously, that's what you're having!
8. "Dirty Water" by The Standells - Particularly fitting if you're throwing a pool party in Boston. (Even if not, the classic rock song's always a good time!)
9. "(Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding - One of those songs that never fails to put people in a summery mood.
10. "Wipeout" by the Surfaris - The surfin' staple never loses its cool!
