What iconic images say "America" to you? I've put a slide show of pictures that almost capture what I see when I think of our country. But it's almost impossible for me to distill what America means in just a few images. Even as I write this introduction I'm thinking of more images I wish I'd included. So consider this slide show incomplete. America will always be too big, ambitious, multifaceted, diverse, and complex to boil down to just a handful of pictures. But it's still fun to share a few images with each other.
Here's my mosaic of America. What does yours look like? Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Why on earth would a Mexican folk dancer say AMERICA to you? Smh.
Where are you from, prplecat? Idaho? Mexican culture is all over the place. It's practically what the entire state of Texas is made of. We even have a NEW Mexico!
Really!?!?! Stop with the slideshows! Why don't you guys listen to us, the readers?
FYI, I LIVE in Texas. And I have nothing against anyone celebrating their culture. I simply don't see why that image says "America", like the title of the article says.
Sorry...I forgot. This is The Stir, and it doesn't have to make sense.
I live in Texas, too.
What, pray tell, IS a solid, "American" culture? What does it consist of?
