Would you ever stay in a home you thought was haunted? For me, it would depend on what kind of entity was making its presence known, and whether my family and I were in some kind of danger by co-habitating with it. Some ghosts are pretty cool, but some can be downright terrifying. And if whatever was haunting my house was remotely threatening, I'd get out of there as quickly as possible.
One couple in Toms River, N.J. feels the same way, because they are suing their landlord to regain the security deposit they put down when they rented a house they believe is very haunted. In fact, they were so spooked out by what went on in this place that they only lived there for one week.
Shortly after moving in, the family experienced unexplained whispering, the lights flickering on and off, things falling out of their closets, someone tugging at their bed sheets at night (yikes!), and footsteps in their kitchen.
They were so freaked out that they had a paranormal group come in and conduct and investigation, and they concluded that the house has an intelligent haunting going on. And then a pastor came in and said that it's a result of demonic possession. News flash -- demonic possession definitely isn't something you want to mess around with. You guys have seen The Amityville Horror, right? Remember how psycho that guy went after whatever was in that house got into his head? Yeah -- no, thanks. If something like that happened to me, I'd have a moving truck in the driveway in record time.
And speaking of The Amityville Horror, what makes this case even creepier is the fact that the movie was filmed in the exact same town as this house! How nuts is that?
The owner of the home is being all difficult and thinks that the family is trying to get out of paying rent they suddenly realized they couldn't afford. But they insist that they never would've rented a moving truck and packed up all their stuff and moved in only to move out a week later. The fact that they fled so quickly definitely leads me to believe that something scary was going on in that house, don't you agree? Moving is such a pain in the butt, and I seriously doubt anyone would want to do it twice over a span of seven days without a very good reason.
Here's the trailer for The Amityville Horror remake from 2005-- that movie always sends shivers down my spine!

Growing up, the house we lived in was haunted. I believe that with every fiber of my being. There was lots of noises, but things didn't start to get bad until I was 12. Thats when my dad came home early one morning and saw a man standing in front of the front door. Also, one night around midnight my brother was downstairs in the living room getting ready to come upstairs and saw a woman in a red dress coming down the stairs. He told me later that he thought it was me at first but then he saw it. Another time, a friend and I came home and heard something in the kitchen. It sounded like someone was taking all the drawers out and throwing everything around. It was scary because there was no one else home. I thought that my brother was home, but when we left the house I saw him coming down the street. There was a lot of things going on in that house, but it never scared me. Not until the kitchen incident. It was the coolest thing having grown up in that house.
I am also leaving my furniture in the house too, because I believe spirita travel. They can play the WII and XBOX all they want.
I always ask if the property has been psychologically impacted...
So thats why I say screw that, the ghoat can have my couch, chair, freezer and so forth. I will just go to rent a center
I think a tgird party should be hired and then see if it haunted
OMG when I was little my grandfather drove past this house but NOT before stopping...I was old enough to know about the movie and let me tell you that is the scariest house EVER...
