Say Yes to Stripes in the Nursery!

Style Savvy 6

I think soothing is what most people go for when it comes to creating a nursery, and soothing is exactly what designer Lindsay Brier managed to achieve with this space for her son, Hawken. Its neutral base with bright pops of orange could definitely work for either gender. But she also used stripes!

See more about how she decorated her baby's room, below.

It seems as though Lindsay's love for stripes extends through the rest of her house with these vertical ones in the hall to contrast the horizontal ones in the nursery. The idea of painting stripes seems time-consuming to me, but I LOVE the way it looks. Definitely worth the effort.

Framed black-and-white photos and simple letters for baby Hawken's initials keep the walls clean and uncluttered.

I love the patterned window treatments and the velvet ottoman. That armoire over by the crib was found at IKEA and dressed up a bit with new knobs from Pottery Barn Kids, one of my favorite tricks for decorating on a budget!
