How fun would it be to step into one of your favorite TV shows? It would be such a hoot to live in a house your favorite TV characters call home.
I guess it's kind of dorky to want to re-enact scenes from that sitcom you love, but c'mon -- you know you'd do it. Wouldn't it be so fun to live in the apartment building that was used in Friends? You know you'd totally hum the theme song every time you walked up the stairs too!
Believe it or not, it just may be possible ...
Famous homes don't wind up on the market too often, but for the bargain basement price of $17 million, you can currently buy the brick house featured in the American Horror Story series on FX. Apparently the place has been used in a lot of other shows too, like The Twilight Zone, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and even Grey's Anatomy. Sure beats McDreamy's trailer.
A big hunk of a house like that may not be everyone's cup of tea, but there are plenty of famous TV homes that most of us would love to move into.
The suite that Kourtney and Kim Kardashian lived in at the Gansevoort Park in NYC was beyond amazing. Considering how huge the windows are in that place, it's a wonder someone didn't nab a photo of Kim walking around in her bra. She must have been extra cautious. But I digress. It turns out that anyone can rent the suite and hang Kardashian-style for a night. Since standard rooms at the Gansevoort go for like $350 a night, however, it's safe to assume that you'd need a pretty padded wallet to book it.
Another great TV house is the one from 90210. And no, I'm not talking about the new 90210 that seems to be all the rage these days. I mean the one with Brenda and Brandon and Dylan and the whole original gang. Fun fact: The owner of the house where Cindy Walsh baked cookies in the kitchen is the same person who rented the home out to 90210 producers when it aired. And now she's sittin' pretty. OMG. That house rocks. I'd totally throw a slumber party in the living room with all my girlfriends if I lived there. I'd invite Andrea Zuckerman too.
Of course, if you're a total reality TV junkie, then renting the big, sexy house from The Bachelor would be awesome. It's a little pricey, starting at $2,100 per night and $13,225 for a week, but if you got enough people together, it might be cool to stay there and have your own rose ceremonies. Just make sure they shock the hot tub before you check in.

I want the house from Home Alone. Place is freaking beautiful.
I want BBC's Sherlock and John's flat with my own Mrs. Hudson. Sherlock can stay ;)
the house from home alone was on the market not too long ago. i cant remember what it was listed for though
Personally, every time I watch "The X-Files" I really want Scully's apartment. I'm aware it's just a set, but still....so nice. :)
Wow, I guess I'm not much of a "house" girl.
Oh lordie where do I start....my favorite home is in What Lies Beneath amongst many other homes I love. I really love that "hooked on houses" site too PRIMA487, it was so fun to look at. Another home I adore is in Practical Magic...I think all these houses were fake. As far as apartments go, the penthouse with the beautiful WIC in the movie Sex and The City would be amazing, even for my family of 5 : )
