Play kitchens are a classic toy that almost every kid loves. I know I've been frustrated in the past trying to find one that isn't cheap and plastic, so I was delighted to come across this completely adorable DIY version.
Made by Joni for her little Vivi, the fun touches like the metallic polka dots and custom paint job motivate me to bust out the tools and make one for my youngest. Keep reading for more details.
The reflective metallic circles add so much personality!
The "countertop" has enough space for all of Vivi's concoctions.
Joni used the measurements of this Pottery Barn kitchen for the shape and size. Then she customized it with paint (including chalkboard paint for the refrigerator), knobs found at The Home Depot, and metallic contact paper cut into circles (genius!). The sink is actually an old enamelware bowl.
I simply adore it, and I know my kids would too. Get all the details and lots more photos on Joni's blog, Lay Baby Lay.
