January always brings a feeling of renewal, but I find that it quickly fades once February hits. So this year I'd like to make regular changes to my space that keep me inspired, and keep me feeling like the first of January never left. Here are five fairly easy ways I hope to freshen up my space in 2012.

Freshen up tip #1: Add color. Whether it's dining room chairs, a painting, or a throw pillow -- color always brightens a space. 

Freshen up tip #2: Add crisp linens to the bed. Ahhh, doesn't the site of clean, white bed linens make you happy?

Freshen up tip #3: Paint! It's inexpensive considering what a big impact it can have on a room.

Freshen up tip #4: Just add light. It's easy to overlook or ignore light fixtures, but they can make such a difference.

Freshen up tip #5: Bring in the green. Plants are the definition of fresh and will help your space smell great too. Just remember to water. :)
