This serene nursery created by Christine proves two things: First, just because your decorating for a girl doesn't mean you have to douse everything in pink, and, second, a DIY project doesn't have to be difficult to be effective. Take a closer look at the details to see what I mean.

When I first saw this room, the art above the crib is what stood out most. I thought for sure it was created by an artist, but it's actually just fabric from IKEA wrapped tightly around canvases. An inexpensive way to add interest to your walls.

Another way Christine added interest to the room is by replacing the boring knobs on the dresser with ones that are more visually interesting. Quick but effective.

The mustard yellow accents are a perfect complement to the gray. This cute pillow is from Etsy shop Honey Pie Design.
The child-size reading nook is probably my favorite element of the room. The book shelves were made from spice racks found at IKEA. Clever!
What do you think? Have you ever considered this color scheme for your girls?

Your baby's room isn't supposed to be about what you like. You can decorate for a baby girl without using a lot of pink.
I don't are the point though, when most of that stuff is going to be taken over with toys, and most of the decisions are going to pose a safety hazard to a crawling baby.
Looks like a boys room to me...
Also, the "child size reading nook" doesn't look appropriate for a baby!!!!
I wish I had this much space to work with. Unfortunately, my husband and I didn't even manage to get the new chair rails up and finished before our baby came. And she's 2 and a half now, and we still haven't finished. I guess you could say were aren't really the decorating type. I'm shocked we painted.
The "canvas" things are just jibberish-looking out-of-order cursive number words that won't teach a baby anything.
It's a safety-hazard as well.
