It's always a little scary mailing gifts or ordering things online during the holidays. Not just because who knows if it's ever going to make it to the destination on time, but because shit can break. And shit does break. Wanna know why? Because FedEx guys like this dude in the video are too busy to ring doorbells, so they just throw brand new computers over the gate. True story. You have to see it to believe it.
Check it:
Dude doesn't even attempt to get in touch with the person who lives there. He doesn't knock. Doesn't ring a bell. Doesn't even peer over the fence. Just boom! Drops that computer like a bad habit. And, hey, guess what? Not surprisingly, it broke.
The owner of the computer wrote on his YouTube page: "Here is a video of my monitor being 'delivered'. The sad part is that I was home at the time with the front door wide open. All he would have had to do was ring the bell on the gate. Now I have to return my monitor since it is broken."
I get that FedEx, UPS, and mail carriers are super busy this time of year, but you know what? So are a lot of people. Just because they're busy doesn't mean it's okay to treat expensive items like crap. The box clearly showed that it was a computer. It's kind of insane that he threw it over the fence like that.
So, I guess this is proof. Proof that shipping items this time of year is a bad idea. But since most of us don't have a choice, guess we just need to take extra precautions -- tons of padding; notes that say "fragile" on the packages; and notes for FedEx guys that read, "Please don't throw items over gate. Thanks."
Do you get nervous mailing stuff this time of year?

Wow! I guess it's a little too much to ask a Fed Ex employee to do his job!!! I hope that guy has consequences for his actions.
Totally should be fired. No excuse at all.
He needs to be fired. End of story. What he did was so messed up.
All they do now a days, is ring the door bell and leave the package at your doorstep.. they don't even wait for you to get to the door before they're off in their trucks.
This guy gives all delivery people a bad name. It's unfortunate asshats like him exist. I will say they definitely DO NOT get paid by the package at Fed Ex. My husband worked for them. In fact Fed Ex pays really crappy wages and treats their employees horribly. It's MUCH more likely he was pushing it and going to have overtime because of the time of year they call "peak" and he was trying to keep from getting his ass chewed back at the depot for overtime. Delivery drivers are human and people rarely stop to think of that when they are out on Christmas day delivering the package you just HAD to have shipped that very day. I really hope if you have a delivery on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve, that it's #1. Worth it, and #2. that you profusely thank the driver who took the time away from their family to work on the holiday because it's generally not their choice. It's based on a rotation. Same thing on every other Holiday, by the way. Not excusing his behavior AT ALL, he'll be out of a job I'm sure. Just saying people could treat their delivery people a little better. "Peace on Earth and good will toward men" didn't mean "except the poor delivery driver".
