It's so hard for me to commit to one style of Christmas decor because I know the next year, there will be something new that catches my eye. That's probably why our ornament collection is a random mix, from traditional to eclectic. Instead of fully investing in one style, I like the idea of buying inexpensive clear glass bulbs and customizing them to your mood.
Feeling glam? Try these pretty gold ones made by Jennie by using washi tape and tinsel. See four more perfectly festive ideas below.
Keighley made these pretty painted bulbs by simply swirling around acrylic paint and letting them dry. I love the colors she chose.

Ornaments aren't just for the tree. Melanie made this ornament chandelier with clear glass bulbs filled with feathers, tinsel, and glitter.

Keep the tissue paper out from wrapping gifts and add bits of it to ornaments for this decoupage look.

Or you could make your own mini winter scene. A cute sledding hill perhaps? Each one is like a mini diorama.
What style of Christmas decorations are you going with this year? Would any of these ornaments fit it?

Cute. Thanks for sharing!
i love the ideas!
I teach a preschool arts and crafts class, and we have the 4yr olds make ornaments each year. We help them put a few drops of acrylic paint in two different colors into the clear plastic (you can use glass, but plastic is better for preschoolers!), then add a little glitter paint. Then we cover the opening with tape, and let the kids roll the ornament around to swirl the colors and glitter paint together. Each one is unique and beautiful! then we take the tape off and let excess paint drain into a bathroom size paper cup overnight. Put the top back on, add a pretty ribbon and hanger and you've got a beautiful ornament made by your child! They make really special gifts! OH, and we use a paint pen to write the child's name, or Merry Christmas, or another message on the outside. One of my favorite projects!
Such cute ideas!!
I love the clear ornaments, so versitile. you can do so many things with them. My kids actually made ornaments with my Sil last xmas, they loved it.
I really like some of these! Very cute =)
I love the mini dioramas. At most I've put ribbons around mine.
these are really cute.. i love the mini winter scenes :)
I have one I made in 5th grade (and remade after it broke). I took a glass ball, and filled it with gray/brown spotted craft feathers.
