10 Things One Dog Is Thankful for This Thanksgiving

dogHello there and Happy Thanksgiving! My name is Jango. I may be just a dog (and an extremely adorable one at that). But that doesn't mean I’m not thankful for the many wonderful things in my life. In fact, I’m guessing that if you read through the list that I made of the 10 things I’m most grateful for, you may see many things that YOU are grateful for, too. But then again, what do I know? I’m just an extremely adorable dog. Alright here goes nothing …

1. My Human. Do you have that person in your life that you love more than anything else and you would do just about anything for? For me, that's my human.

Now, it's often said that having a human around all the time can be hard work. And it is sometimes. But the best thing about humans is how HAPPY they always are to see you when they get home. Even if my human just runs across the street to the store for five minutes she comes home and is so excited and acts like she hasn't seen me for years and years. That's when it's all worth it.

2. My Human’s Friend That Is a Man. Do you have person in your life who just totally gets you and is always around if you need to cuddle or want to chase a stick? Well, for me that’s THIS guy. He gives me lots of pets and sometimes when my human is too tired, he takes me on my walk. Once, he got confused and gave me a whole box of treats (instead of just the one treat that I’m supposed to get) and it was the best day of my whole life.

3. Cozy Home. I used to live far away, but recently I moved to this city. It took a while, but just recently it’s started to feel like home and I’ll tell you a secret: I’m crazy about it! My only complaint: Where are all the bunny rabbits?

4. Food. I know that some dogs don’t have nutritious food and some have no food at all and that makes me sad. Once I overheard my human saying that my food is way better than hers because I have something called “allergies” and can only eat expensive, organic, grain-free food and I don’t know what that means but I sure do like it!

5. Job. My human says that we all have jobs to do and even though sometimes they feel like hard work we have to be thankful for them and do the very best we can at them. My job is to guard the house while she is away and I do this VERY well and noisily.

6. Friends. I have the best friends. Whether I want to dress up and do fun things in the city (see photo) or stay in and whine a little, they’re always there for me.

7. Health. Lately, my human and I have been going for a long run along the river in the morning when the sun comes up (to keep off the pounds from all that yummy food I was thankful for above). It's hard work, and I don't always love it, but I'm thankful for my four legs that make me go FAST!

8. My Bed. Well, technically it’s not MINE, but look how happy it makes me!

9. Toys. Everyone has hobbies, interests, fun toys, and ways to pass the time that gives them pleasure, allows them to create, or just helps them relax. Look at mine!

10. Treats!

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
