Most years, we like to put our Christmas tree up during Thanksgiving weekend. We ignore Black Friday and instead, we embrace our inner homebodies and use the time to prep and dream for the holiday excitement to come.
I'm not sure when Christmas trees arrive in France -- this year will definitely be an adventure -- but I love the idea of purchasing a series of small live trees and potting them in various containters to dot around the house. I imagine it would make every room feel festive, and smell fresh. Take a look at these images and tell me what you think.

Tiny plantings in mugs and ceramic jars would look festive on the kitchen counter.

This one makes a big impact in the house and would have big impact in the garden come spring time.

This is a smallish tree, but raising it up ensures it's still the focal point of the room.

These dwarf varieties make adorable gifts!

So what do you think? Fun and festive or too much of a sweeping hassle? Have you ever tried a live tree?

I LOVE this idea
I like the ideas of these to keep them off the floor
We love live trees and here in North Carolina have some good luck planting them. I like the smaller spruces that grow only to about 8 feet tall. We also get a smaller cut tree and put it on a table in the corner. a 5-6 foot tree on the 3 foot able and we have a 9 foot tree! It keeps the low branches away from babies and toddlers and is really easy to pick up, put up and take down.
Also, every year we have one of those little rosemary trees. After the holidays we donate it and the gorgeous smell. We have a huge rosemary outside to enjoy.
Great ideas! Oh her is the post that shows my table tree. http://www.mommywords.com/2010/12/a-baby-safe-christmas-to-all/
Very pretty!
LOVE it, they are adorable but I am allergic to the real ones so its fake for us. We get 2, a big family one for the living room and a 3 ft for our daughters room. Wish I could do something lie this.
I like these!!
I love all the little trees in pots very festive.
When I was growing up my parents always got a live tree to plant on the property. It's great because when I take my kids to their house I can point to a tree (that is huge now) and say "That was our Christmas tree when Iwas 8".
They are beautiful.
love those...very nice!
