Real Housewife Sells $19 Million Chateau to 'Slum It' (PHOTOS)

She's a practical one, that Lisa Vanderpump. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has decided to up and move out of her gloriously ostentatious 17,000-square-foot French chateau since her two children, Pandora and Max, are no longer living there. She, husband Ken Todd, Jiggy, and her other three dogs will be downsizing to a modest 10,000-square-foot, $12 million home in the heart of Beverly Hills. I hope they're okay.

I mean, you've gotta tip your hat to Ms. Vanderpump. That woman is one brave soul for making the decision to slum it like this after her old digs. I mean, did you see that place? It was unlike anything else on the market (despite being sold for a measly $19 million). It had everything -- a tennis court, a pool and spa, two acres of landscaped grounds, loads of natural sunlight, and it was decorated impeccably. She's got a hard road ahead. But she's strong. With the help of Jiggy, I'm confident she'll get through it.

The biggest hurdle she's going to have to overcome is explaining her new home to friends. I mean, what do you say when you live in a $12 million shack and you're buddies with Richard Branson? Awkward. He's not going to understand the concept of downsizing just because fewer people are around. And he's definitely not going to stay in that rat hole if he's in town. Oh, Lisa, sweetie, I'm so sorry you're having to go through this.

No, kidding aside, I'd be doing the exact same thing if I were Lisa. There's no point living in an gigantic mansion if there are only two of you -- no matter how rich you are (and they're rich -- I just looked it up, Ken's net worth is $85 million). It seems like it would get lonely. Plus, I'm sure the new Vanderpump-Todd home will be beautiful and tasteful and perfect for the two of them.

And me if they have any interest in adopting another child.

Would you want to be adopted by Lisa Vanderpump?
