Okay, I'll cop to wishing I could hire a housekeeper every other day. I wish I had a gardener on call, and the occasional driver would make living in Los Angeles a lot less frustrating. But even if I could afford such luxuries, I can guarantee there is one service I would never, ever, never, ever, never use: Poop 911.
Yes, there are people who will come to your house and pick up the dog poop in your yard. For a fee, of course. I mean, I wouldn't pick up someone else's poop for free, would you? But seriously, who are these people that need a stranger to come to their house and pick up feces? Who are they?
I don't know, but I do applaud the Poop 911 folks for their ingenuity. It just goes to show that even the most menial task can be outsourced. Oh, they now offer cat litter box cleaning services as well, for you super lazy people. I mean, the poop is in the same place. It's not even scattered all over the yard. How hard is it to put your scoop in the gravel and throw that in the trash? Really.
I worry about people who hire others to do every single thing in their lives. I mean, what are they going to do when a zit needs popping? Oh, right, call the dermatologist. But what about when their kids need tucking in? Nanny. Paper brought in? Trash taken out? Plants watered? Housekeeper, housekeeper, housekeeper. Sigh. Okay, I guess there really is a job you can hire out for every single thing you need to do in your home and life.
In that case, I'm offering an email service. Need a note written to your obnoxious neighbor? The local newspaper? Starting at 50 cents a word, I'm your gal. What? Clearly people need help out there.
Would you hire someone to clean up the poop in your yard?

I would.... if I was pregnant, and in my morning sickness stage. Enough said.
Ya damn right I would! This is an awfully judgmental article. If I could afford it (how expensive is it?), every now and then I'd love to have someone come scoop my yard. How is this any different than hiring someone to do your laundry (dry cleaners?), clean your house, mow your yard, do the landscaping... Again, if I could afford it, I'd much rather pay someone and spend the saved time with my family.
Ooh, just looked them up- starting at $9.95! That's very reasonable, and I bet they make decent money! They also do leaf raking (who likes THAT chore?). We used to pay kids in the neighborhood to rake my grandparents' yard. They could've used the poop-scooping, too, come to think of it.
The service that came to our house cost me $100 it took them an hour and a half to clean up an acre of ground. I didn't think it was that bad considering my lazy butt didn't have to do it!
my daughter does this as a way of helping out some of the elderly people in the neighborhood... so their yard doesn't get stinky or maybe get their dogs sick( she doesnt charge them) ... some of the more busy people in the neighborhood saw her and asked her if she would do their yards and they would pay her.. she makes about 70 dollars a week.
lol, for the past year I have been paying my son(he'll be 9 in a week) 0.50 a day to clean up our dog's poop. It'll be a sad day when the kids are all grown and DH & I have to do the poop scooping.
I don't think I would.
Honestly, I find it something I would be ashamed to have to budget for, but sometimes I would love to have someone come do it for us.
