Ben Blair gave me a beautiful little kumquat tree for my birthday this year. I love how it freshens up our interior and it's making me want to bring more and more plants into our home.
While I don't claim to be an expert green thumb, I think bringing greenery into the home is one of the easiest and most inexpensive routes to go when freshening up your space. Below are several photos I've found that are going directly to my inspiration board. I hope you feel inspired, too.

These lovely green branches blend well with the rustic wooden bedside table.

Proof that plants can fit nicely in any room of the house, including the somewhat unlikely placement in a dining room.

These orange trees certainly make for a warm welcome.

And I love both of these clever ways to plant and display smaller, more manageable plants -- a nice mix in a wooden crate and a row of tea tins.
What type of plants do you have in your home? Would you be brave enough to keep a large-ish tree inside or are you more of a small herb garden person?

I did have a tree in my house but did not know that I was doing it harm but keeping a pan under the planter. When I would water it, I would leave the water in the pan thinking I was doing the right thing. Turns out, that is bad for the roots. So, in the end, I killed it. I have a lot of plants but I have moved all of them outside and in my sun room. I love plants and I love the idea of the cans with the herbs. I may be hitting some yard sales for tins soon.
I'm going to get some houseplants!!
