If my mom were living and she unwrapped a pillow from me she would say "ohhhhh (pause) isn't that nice(pause) I love it really. So thoughtful.(weird fake smile) Reaaalllllllly love it!
I guess I'm the only weird one who's a sucker for a pretty pillow.
cute ideas
Oh I love them all! Except the pillow. I wouldn't mind getting a pretty pillow as a gift (not my top choice but I wouldn't be upset. I've been wanting new pillows for our couch anyway. lol) but that one's just not my style.
I want one of those mugs...
I like the pillow, my mom would get me something like that and vice versa. I just want to sleep in, really. And I do love those mugs.
The hanging planter from Ikea is cute! I will buy my MIL one tomorrow! I am not getting my mom a thing! Long story! My grandma will probably get one too!
Seriously, am I the only mom out there that would like to sleep in, be given breakfast in bed, flowers and a gift certificate for a mani/pedi or massage?? Don't buy me a throw pillow, OMG!
Personally I think the gifts are not really considerate of a REAL mom. Mothers work very hard and sacrifice so much personal time. I can't even take a bath or drink a cup of coffee without being interrupted and buying stuff for myself is always last on the list because the kids need so much (clothes for school, new sneakers, gifts for birthday or holiday, etc.) Gifts I would appreciate the most would be: time to actually SLEEP IN (ooo, a full 8 hours of sleep is unimaginable in my world, how I would LOVE that). The chance to go out and shop without dragging the kids along. Take a nice hot bath WITHOUT interruption or even to enjoy a nice cup of coffee without having to stop what I'm doing to help a child out. I love being a mom but you get my point. If we need gift ideas (actual THINGS) I guess my favorites would be flowers. I never really get to have those and they are so pretty. Makes you feel special getting flowers. Or chocolates... a special kind not just a bar from the market.
