Have you ever considered painting one of your walls a really dark shade? Dark as in the charcoal to black range?
I've seen so many cool examples of dark walls lately, like this faux library by Abigail Ahern -- I'm totally craving something bold like this in my house. I've seen dark-walled nurseries, dark-walled dining rooms, dark-walled bathrooms. Dark walls clearly have potential anywhere and everywhere.
Take a look at these eight examples. I'd love to hear what you think. Too dark for your taste? Need something brighter in the winter? Or do you feel like it makes the rooms cozy?

Well. What do you think? Are you converted to the dark side, too?

Yuck. Did NOT like the black/yellow/white nursery, but I like the other ones. I would do a dark wall!! I think it makes the space cozy.
Yeah, I'm not wild about the nursery, either. But I did like most of the other ones - LOVE the dining room.
I loved the nursery. Dark can be done bad, but when paired with the right trim and furniture, it can be stunning.
I like the chaulk board wall
