Today is the third annual Free Shipping Day, with over 1,000 merchants getting rid of those shipping fees and guaranteeing a delivery by Christmas. More than 1,000 stores are offering free shipping on all orders, while over 700 are offering free shipping with a minimum purchase.
The event began at 12 a.m. EST today, December 17 and ends tonight, at 12 a.m. Saturday, December 18. Most stores won't guarantee Christmas delivery (with standard shipping) after today — so get your shopping done now and buy something for everyone you know to avoid all of those expedited shipping fees
But make sure to read the fine print because some merchants require a ridiculous-if-you-ask-me minimum payment. Plus, quite often you will need a code first to get your free shipping! And they don't even list it on their homepages. So let us tell you where to go to make sure you don't get ripped off ...
Go to FreeShippingDay.com to get all of the details before you click the check-out button for your purchases!
And here are some insider tips ... a handful of the bigger retailers aren't giving you the sweet deal you might be hoping for if you are only going in for one or two items from the website. For Ann Taylor, you have to have a minimum order of at least $150, while over at Ann Taylor LOFT, you need to pay over $125 and new arrivals are excluded from the deal (though you get 40 percent off) if you want free shipping. And West Elm is offering free shipping on everything -- excluding their furniture. Well ... that sucks! If you want to get your kid some toys at FAO Schwarz, you'll need to shell out at least $99. Even Target only has free shipping available for certain items. Target!
If you want to avoid any minimum payments, Free Shipping Day's blog has listed the top 25 vendors offering a no-strings-attached free delivery. Opt for one of these merchants if you don't want to pay a minimum amount.

What a rip-off! They were on the no-strings-attached list!
Ah, well that's because you also need the code D9X9T7R to get the free shipping. Many of these merchants require the code, so go to FreeShippingDay.com, which has all the codes and minimums listed right on its homepage.
Just do your research and read all the fine print before taking advantage of Free Shipping Day. Don't you research coupon codes before shopping anyway? Good luck to all you procrastinators and happy shopping!
