Though Nicole Richie and Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden haven't given anything away when it comes to their impending nuptials, it looks like Nicole's famous dad Lionel Richie has been getting his $12 million Bel Air mansion ready so that the couple can tie the knot.
According to RadarOnline, a stage is being built in the backyard over the pool, and the partying will take place mostly outdoors. Classic Party Rentals trucks were seen dropping off white tables and chairs, staging, flooring, and tent poles.
Planner Mindy Weiss is orchestrating the event and sent out invitations to the couple's closest pals for the December 11 affair. But guess who won't be there?
Paris Hilton wasn't invited! Only 75 guests have been asked to attend, and some stars expected to show are Ashlee Simpson, Samantha Ronson, Richie’s hairdresser Andy Lecompte, and Christina Aguilera. Nicole’s maid of honor is expected to be her best friend Masha Gordon.
Seems the Simple Life days really are officially over.
As for the rest of the vendors, many are contractually obligated not to spill the beans, but Nicole was spotted in New York City on December 3 with personal stylist Simone Harouche to attend a fitting last week with Marchesa.
From the photos of Lionel's house a couple of days before the big event, it looks as if they're building a large marquee to the right, and the white tents will provide protection in case of inclement weather as well as the prying eyes of the paparazzi. Lionel Richie told a Southern California radio station that all the walkways will be covered to avoid overhead shots. The backyard is getting decked out with white patio-like furniture with white marble tabletops.
Sounds like a classy affair! Can't pick a better wedding venue than a 28-room mansion filled with 75 of your closest family and friends.
Would you have an at-home wedding? What do you think of the venue so far?
