Preparation for Halloween is well underway. We have our kids' costumes all lined up. My neighbor has fake spider webs stretched across his fence. Another has a pair of giant evil eyes peeping out the two front windows. Pumpkins are starting to line porches on my block. And soon they'll be carved with funny faces.
The home and garden mags and blogs are exploding with tons of Halloween ideas too. We can't wait to share some of the best (and worst) Halloween finds on the web this week -- from decorating ideas and DIY inspiration to spooky eye candy and more!
Here are the Halloween finds we're lovin' and leavin' on the web this week.
A Cute Way to Let Bats Hang Around: How cute is this Origami Bats Strand ($8) from Jikits? Now that's a fun way to invite bats inside.
Sexiest Pumpkins: Gina at Shelterpop shows us how to make pumpkins sexy with old fishnet stockings. HOT!
Things I Don't Want to See in My Floral Arrangements: Rats! Pottery Barn, you can keep your Mini Sisal Rat Vase Filler ($12). I don't aim to fill my vases with beady-eyed vermin.
Best Spiderwebs for Your Home: Forget those fakey cobwebs we see every year and forget the real ones (just turn out the lights; no one will see them), and check out this pretty Spiderwebs Under Glass display piece ($45) from ABC Home (via House Beautiful).
Scariest Houses Ever!: House Beautiful has a roundup of Top 5 Scariest Horror Movie Homes of All Time. Not sure why I never noticed that pretty wallpaper in The Shining -- ack scary twins!
Best Use of Raven's Feathers: Okay, not really real raven's feathers, but I saw this Feather Wreath ($19.99) in Target and really felt the urge to buy it. Ups the sophistication factor of the Halloween wreath, no?
