Playing With Patterns, Vintage Wallpapers & More News

wallpaperI'll admit that pattern somewhat intimidates me. Instead of covering walls in it, I'd much prefer having it in small doses -- a throw pillow, comforter, art. But whether you like it done big or small, it's always fun to play with (teehee, sorry, I know this isn't Love & Sex). Anyways, here are some patterned pieces to enjoy!

  • There is some fab patterned bedding at the Shelterpop-curated Gilt Sale, and no worries if you get intimidated by pattern like I do, they've put together some ideas (based on their patterns) to give you a good jumping off point. The key is to try and keep the rest of the room solid, but if you do want more pattern, go small and stay within the color family. -- Shelterpop
  • Here's a place that you don't often see pattern -- on the ceiling! These ceilings are so chic, they would even have Michelangelo thinking about wallpapering over his Sistine Chapel masterpiece. Ooo, this gives me an idea for my own apartment! -- Apartment Therapy
  • If you're a hippie by heart and love funky vintage finds, then check out these wallpapers from Secondhand Rose. Not everyone will appreciate them, but I kinda like their oddball-ness. Much better than some of the more modern (aka boring) ones that grace walls today. -- Design*Sponge
