"Parrot Cay brings my favorite things in the world together," fashion designer Donna Karan told Travel & Leisure magazine in October 2007. "It's East meets West. It's everything and nothing, if I can describe it that way. It's a hidden treasure: the turquoise water, the white, white sand...And it feels completely effortless, but, oh my God, the amount of effort that goes into it behind the scenes."
Few have been invited to take in the breathtaking 360-degree views, the infinity pool lined with black volcanic stone or the personal collection of African and Asian art that adorns the white walls. Until now.

The Sanctuary, Donna Karan's private island estate located on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos sits among the island’s lush vegetation.
Just a few steps away from the white sand beach and with views of the turquoise waters, the house is comprised of a master bedroom/sitting area with 360-degree views. There are three other en-suite bedrooms each with private bath.

There is an infinity pool with a large screened pavilion for lounging, dining and after-dinner movie viewing. Cedar-paneled walls, teak furniture, walnut floors and eclectic pieces from Donna’s travels adorn the house and pavilion.

Right now, Donna Karan is auctioning the chance to spend four nights in her private paradise to raise funds for The Ellen Hermanson Foundation. The exclusive vacation for eight people, valued at over $40,000, is currently up for auction (if you're loaded) at charitybuzz.com through Wednesday, September 8. Currently, bidding's up to a mere $17,000.
What do you think of Donna Karan's luxury island digs? And what time do you want to meet me there?

I'm sorry, but yes, it's all beautiful and luxurious and well, a tad pretentious, but these people have way too much money.
