Vanilla Ice Wants to Help You Renovate Your House

10

vanilla iceWe've seen the home renovation game turn contractors into stars -- hello, Ty Pennington.

So what's a washed-up rap star to do when having your song covered on Glee isn't enough to put you back on top?

Er, sign with the DIY Network and start renovating homes?

Cue the Vanilla Ice Project.

The former rapper says he'll focus on his "passion for home renovation" as he tears apart his own 7,000-square-foot mansion in Florida's Palm Beach.

Did you get that? His own house?

MSN's The Wrap reveals the network thinks people will care enough to watch through at least 10 half-hour episodes.

For a look at Vanilla Ice now, maybe. Especially if this passion for renovation means he'll actually do some of this work himself -- America loves to see its stars get dirty.

But are we up for 10 episodes of essentially Pimp My Cribs?

I'll be watching to see if you can really take any home renovation tips for your home out of a makeover of a 7,000-square-foot mansion.

Between sheer size difference and the cost differential, it should be a challenge to make it translate.

The show will hit the network October 14. Will you be watching?

I wont. I mean if I had tv I might flip it on for 5 mins to see what he looks like now, but it would be changed quickly.
