I Can't Believe That's the Same Room! 4 Amazing Transformations

A few weeks ago, I discovered a new-to-me blog (called design*dump) by a friend-of-a-friend named Autumn. Autumn and her husband have renovated not one, not two, but FIVE houses. All while raising three kids. And right this minute, they are searching for house number six. Amazing!

Anyone who has renovated or restored a house (raising my hand) knows how wearing the process can be. So I was inspired to hear this husband-wife team had figured out a process that works for both of them -- and that they both look forward to their next house project.

I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite before and after shots from their homes. Looking at these photos reminds me that pretty much any space can be totally transformed with the right ideas (and a great interior designer!).

After: Entryway

Isn't the new floor gorgeous? And I love how the dark door stands out in the white moulding.

Before: Study

After: Study

I can hardly believe this is the same room! The new woodwork on the ceiling adds so much depth. And I love the dark, masculine walls.

Before: Living Room

After: Living Room

More ceiling additions in the comfy living room. Such a cool idea! It makes the architecture so much more interesting.

Before: Dining Room

After: Dining Room

The wall color in this room is perfect. I think the grand chandelier looks even grander reflected in that ornate mirror.

What do you think? Are you as impressed as I am? If you'd like to see lots more photos of Autumn's remodels, definitely visit design*dump. She conveniently puts all her home tour posts in the right hand column.

Thanks for sharing your work with us, Autumn. Can't wait to see what you do with house number six!
