Who has two bionic legs, likes to play, and purrs when his belly is rubbed? (If you're thinking Lance Armstrong, you're half right!)
The real answer is Oscar, a black cat who lives in Britain’s Channel Islands.
According to news stories, things got pretty unlucky for this kitty when, while sunning himself, he was run over by a combine harvester and lost his lower hind legs.

At the young age of 2, luck was on Oscar's side when his owner's veterinarian referred him to Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick, a neuro-orthopedic surgeon in Eashing, southwest of London.
Dr. Fitzpatrick worked with biomedical engineering experts to create two metal prosthetic implants inserted by drilling holes into what remained of the cat's back limbs. The implants were then coated with a substance that helps bone cells grow directly over them.
The team also created custom-built “paws” attached to the bottoms of the implants to mimic Oscar's paws. Eventually, Oscar's skin will grow over the end of each peg to form a natural seal, preventing infections and creating more stability. The paws even give a little (like a seesaw on the bottom of his limbs) to allow for a normal cat gait.
Oscar took a few months to get back in the swing of things, but he's now running and playing like any other cat.
Oscar may have lost one of his nine lives, but there's no doubt he's one very lucky cat.
