Storage ottoman from TargetWe have a leather ottoman in our living room, and I like it. It's padded and perfect for toddlers who accidentally ram their heads into everything.
However, the ottoman is also such a large piece of furniture that serves no other purpose. I constantly wish we had something like this Storage Ottoman from Target ($79.99). The same decor with a lot of extra room for toys, magazines, and shoes.
Picking furniture for your house that's multi-purpose and can serve as storage is a great idea, and I'm going to keep it in mind from now on.
Here are a few extra suggestions for pieces of furniture you could add to your home that are also great for extra storage.
NORDEN gateleg table from IKEA
This NORDEN Gateleg Table from IKEA ($179) has six extra drawers on the side for flatware, napkins, place mats, whatever you want to store in them. I really love it.
Storage stool for The Container Store
How nice is this Bristol Storage Stool from The Container Store ($79)? You could buy a couple and place them together as a "faux" ottoman or use them as end tables. They're neutral yet they stand out, and they'd fit into a million different rooms.
Storage end table from SpaceSavers.com
Looks like a table, but has plenty of storage for CDs, magazines, or whatever you have lying around the house. This Mesa Storage End Table is from SpaceSavers.com ($55.99), and you could buy one to place at the end of the couch or place three together for a coffee table look.
I love the idea of buying furniture that actually helps home organization instead of just taking up a bunch of room.
So, do you have storage furniture in your home?
