Stephen Saint-Onge, designer, dad, husband, and homeowner, is here today with a lovely kitchen renovation he did for a New York family.
"Kitchens are fun projects," says Saint-Onge, "because they are still very much the heart of every family-focused home."
Saint-Onge is known for his approachable design, and while this kitchen really turned out gorgeous, it still looks like a kitchen a family could enjoy every day.
Let's take a peek at the Before and After.
Designer Stephen Saint-Onge worked with a busy family in the suburbs of New York City to take their tired, small, 1950s-style kitchen and dining area and make it something that would work for their way of life.
The family opted to add onto their house and combine the two rooms in order to open the space up and give them more options. The new larger, open space allowed them to create not only a larger kitchen but also an open everyday dining area and living room area. The new design also takes advantage of lots of natural light from and views to a great backyard.
Stephen is a firm believer in design that "can transport you out of your everyday life and inspire you." This renovation created a spacious, light-filled "great room" that feels airy and decadent, like a beautiful vacation home, but still functions well in the lives of a busy family.
He also believes in making your home that you are in now -- your dream home. "Why put it off? Enjoy your home now!"
Check out the After photos of the completed kitchen remodel and Stephen's list of resources for the project.
