I'm so pleased to give you a glimpse into the colorful home of Rachel Singleton today. Rachel is a designer living in Oklahoma City and her home is chock-full of interior design inspiration. Rachel says, "I never met a color I didn't like." Doesn't that make you want to be besties with her right off the bat?
Let's start in the kitchen where we can admire that giant "Eat" sign. Rachel says she loves the big drawers beneath it for storing counter appliances. So smart!

This is Rachel's front door. She hand-painted(!) the numbers to add a bit of charm and whimsy. I'd say she totally succeeded. I'm also loving the white bench with that colorful stripey pillow. Isn't that a friendly spot?

The entryway is Rachel's favorite spot in her whole house. She's not really a beige person, but since it was one of the unifying colors in the house, she made it pop a little more by using it in broad stripes on the wall. The green buffet was her grandmother's; it was hand-painted by her aunt and cousin in the 1970s. The mirror above was also her grandmother's.

Rachel said the robin's egg blue color of this room was incredibly difficult to get just right, but the result has been that this is the most calming, soothing room in the house.
The skirted console is a small plastic folding table (like the kind from Costco or Sam's!), and Rachel made the skirt for it herself. The chair in front of it (that you can barely see) is actually from a Saks Fifth Avenue that was closing. It was a store fixture and was dip-dyed into Pepto-Bismol-pink paint. She's since re-spray painted it a few times. The tuxedo-style sofa was in her dad's office since the late 1970s. It's a delicious green velvet.

Rachel and her charming husband Simon have an adorable son named Jude and this is his playroom -- attached conveniently to his bedroom. Don't you love that cozy attic ceiling? The table is a found piece from the side of the road. It reminded her of Darby's table (of Fly Through My Window fame) and she snatched it up immediately. The Matterhorn Bobsleds poster is a Disneyland original her husband bought for her when they were dating. So sweet!

Here's Jude's Nursery. The rug is by Dwell Studio for Target. The bedding is by Serena & Lily. The artwork over his bed was photocopied from one of the children's books designed by graphic designer Paul Rand. I heart the bunting.

This space is in the upstairs bonus room. The shelves are from IKEA and she keeps a revolving display of children's books and art books here. The little table and chair are also from IKEA. The adorable artiste is Jude. :)

Here's a photo of the dining room all set up for a baby shower. The green china cabinet is also from Rachel's grandmother and holds great sentimental value. I love how dramatic it is against the mirrored wall behind it. Gorgeous!

Here's Rachel's office painted in a bold, dramatic coral. Rachel collects typography. Her goal is to one day have an entire alphabet of various letters. The rug is from west elm. The desk is Thomas O'Brien for Target. The desk chair is a vintage French cane-back chair that she had reupholstered with Amy Butler fabric.

Next up is a shot of the family living room. The rug is by Williams-Sonoma Home. The couch is by Pottery Barn. The mantel is one of Rachel's favorite parts about this room. It was painted by the previous owner in a dark black color, and it's really dramatic.

And finally, here's the beautiful master bedroom. The bed is from Williams-Sonoma Home in white basket-weave cotton. The mirror is from Target. The side tables are from Z Gallerie. The artwork is from eBay and frame is from IKEA. Rachel says this room was another painting project that took forever to perfect. This room is a little bit of a cave, so getting the color right was a chore, but she's pleased with the instantly calming results.
What do you think? Isn't that a fun home? So much color and lots of great details. Interior design inspiration galore! I'm so glad Rachel took the time to show us around.
