Can a New Puppy Make 'Real Housewives' Kelly Bensimon Less Crazy?

Forget the fact that Kelly Bensimon of The Real Housewives of New York City has been labeled crazy and in serious need of help.

And forget that a trained behaviorist has even gone so far as to say Bensimon has Paranoid Personality Disorder.

And, oh yeah, she was also charged with assault last year.

Bensimon even recently tried to polish her tarnished image with an anti-bullying PSA.

But now she might be on the right track. Can a puppy make everything alright?

Kelly's reportedly adopted a black lab mix from Animal Haven in New York City. Her pup is a  3-month-old female named Chief (uh, ok).

Chief will fit right in with Bensimon's other two dogs -- a Jack Russell terrier named Bear and a Havanese named Fluffy. (At least she's getting more creative with the dog naming!)

Kudos to Bensimon for adopting/rescuing a pup in need rather than buying one! Here's hoping it helps her public image, too.

Do you think adopting a puppy will make Bensimon seem less crazy?
