Stock Market Falls Today; Moms Scramble for Stability

Okay, not really. Well, not this mom anyway.

Today when the DOW Jones Industrial Average plunged about 1,000 points, possibly due to a trading error and the biggest single-day loss since 1987, I sat here still as can be, letting out a huge exhale. Yep, while the DJIA was dropping, I was proudly pondering the hard-earned accomplishments of my 3 1/2-year-old's potty training. After months and months, I got a call that he was finally going potty at preschool.

What about you? What were you doing?

Of course, I also did my job in order to keep the mortgage paid and pondered many bigger, deeper, wiser things (although getting said 3-year-old to do anything is pretty dang big), but let's just say the DOW Jones mishap didn't make me scramble.

And that's okay. Sounds like there was enough of a scramble without me.
