Supermodel Gisele Bündchen will be celebrating Earth Hour. Will you?
Senator Gaylord Nelson started Earth Day in the spring of 1970, and ever since, there’s at least one day of the year when almost everyone around the globe is thinking about the planet and how we can make it better.
Since 1970, the Earth Day cause has grown, and three years ago, World Wildlife Fund started Earth Hour, one hour out of the year that people join forces across the world to turn off in support of action on climate change and toward creating a cleaner, safer and more secure future.
Supermodel Gisele Bündchen and husband, NFL great Tom Brady have shown their support for Earth Hour 2010 by filming two videos that encourage people around the world to join them in turning off their lights in observance of Earth Hour on Saturday, March 27, at 8:30 p.m.
Last year, nearly one billion people in 4,100 cities in 87 countries on seven continents turned out. In the U.S. alone, 80 million Americans and 318 cities officially voted for action with their light switch.
This year, will you participate in Earth Hour?
