Taylor Ryan is CafeMom's personal trainer, here each week to help us get in shape. Today, she shows us the push-up up down—a simple exercise to work our core, butt, and arms. And to make sure our diet is on track, she also shares a healthy eating tip to focus on for the week.
Taylor is the head trainer for The Art of Weight Lifting, as well as Fat Blasting Boot Camps for Moms in her hometown, Charleston. Each week, she shares with us a new exercise and healthy eating tip.
Here is this week's tip:
Grab a handful of nuts. Research shows that women who eat a serving of nuts each day lose more weight than women who don't—even if the calories taken in each day are the same. Nuts are calorie-rich but will satisfy your hunger longer, making you less likely to reach for a second snack. They're also loaded with healthy protein, fats, and carbs, which make them one of the healthiest snack options around. My favorite nutty snack? One tablespoon of almond butter on 1/2 Red Delicious apple.
Which type of nuts is your favorite to snack on?

Cashews, roasted with no salt. Nutty but also slightly sweet. I'm eating them right now.
