Do you think medical marijuana should be legal in your state? Yesterday, New Jersey legalized marijuana strictly to help patients with severe chronic illnesses including cancer, AIDS, Lou Gehrig's disease, and multiple sclerosis. It is now the 14th state in the nation to make pot legal.
What's your reaction to this news?
The legalization of marijuana is often a hot topic here on CafeMom. Many moms argue that medical marijuana is the only way that many patients can get any relief, and, therefore, it should be legal.
But other moms worry that decriminalizing marijuana will make it more readily available and will lead to an increased drug use, particularly among teenagers.
According to legislators, New Jersey's legalization law is the most restrictive in the nation: It permits doctors to prescribe it for ONLY a set list of serious, chronic illnesses; it forbids patients from growing their own marijuana and from using it in public; and it limits patients to two ounces per month.

I am not a pot smoker myself but I think it should be legalized....period. Medical or otherwise. First of all, the government could tax the heck out of it, like they do smokers anyway and get a butt load of money. Second, I think it is far less dangerous than beer and beer is legal. I think people put such a huge issue on this drug and I don't think it is necessary.

I agree with both of you. We as a nation need the money, and alot of people do it , so why not. Also people take muscle relaxers and pain pills then drive. Pot is no were near as bad as that stuff. So it should be legale everwere.

My father has cancer and if it came to the point where he needed a pain reliever like marijuana..then I say yes! but if its just for little minor pains then I'm not sure??
WOW..2 ounces? Seems like a lot. Anyway..It helped my big sis through cancer. I'm not sure what my opinion is on legalizing it.
Everyone who says dont legalize it acts like someone is going to force it down thier throat, its kinda silly.
Legalize it period, you see much less trouble in coutries were its legal.
