broccoliAfter being sick for more than 15 years, and after recently being diagnosed with gastroparesis, PhoenixFire has decided to start on a raw food diet. She is hoping that by eating all raw foods, she will get her energy back and feel healthy again. We'll check in with her each week to see how her raw food journey is progressing...

The following is an excerpt from PhoenixFire's first journal entry about going on a raw food diet:

I have been very ill lately. I have been sick for over 15 years, and the doctors have just figured out what is wrong with me. I have gastroparesis. It is an impairment of the stomach. It takes my stomach three times longer to digest foods than the normal human stomach. The doctors are baffled by this. I have opted for the third choice. I found a book called 12 Steps to Raw Foods by Victoria Boutenko. Her family had many health problems and she did some research to find out how healthy people get (or stay) healthy. She found her answer: Raw Foods.

I have resolved to try this method and see if it brings about the change that I need to have my life back...
