When it comes to exercising and being active, we might just have to take a lesson from our kids. After all, they're always running around—do they ever get tired? Playing with your kids is a great way to burn calories and get fit; similarly, playing like a child is a great way to energize your workout routine and make exercising a bit more fun.
According to Diets in Review, here's how we can "play like a child" when it comes to our workouts:
- Join a sports team. Our kids have a great time playing soccer or little league—why shouldn't we? Check out local church groups, community centers, and businesses to find a team to join.
- Go to the playground. Incorporating playground equipment into your exercise routine can be a great way to get fit: Try pull-ups on the monkey bars, climbing a pole for strength-training, or swinging.
- Leave the car at home. Look for alternative "fun" ways to get around—biking, rollerblading, skateboarding, etc.
- Run after your kids. If you find running on the treadmill to be tedious, running after your children will be much more fun.
What do you think of these suggestions? Do you ever workout like a child?
