Are you terrified of the dentist? A new dental device might provide you some relief: The hand-held Dental Button allows patients to press a button to immediately stop the dentist's drill to take a break from the pain or just calm the nerves. It's a panic button—but for the dentist's chair!
Having control over the drill seems to give some patients a little peace of mind. And because the button helps to relax nervous patients and prevent them from holding their breath, trembling and fidgeting in the chair, dentists like it, too.
Are you afraid of the dentist? Would the Dental Button help to calm you?

Oh wow, I don't think its a good idea though for those jumpy poeple, scaredy-cats, or children.
That's a bad idea. Stopping the dentist's drill while he's working could compromise his delicate work.
If you want them to stop, just raise your hand a little, they'll stop.
Some places offer nitrous oxide.
I am a dental assistant and I can tell you this is a horrible idea! There are so many people that would take advantage of this, and press it constantly. The work would be comprimised and it would take forever to be done. I think you should ask for Nitrous Oxide or be put to sleep if you can't handle the dental work.
I can only imagine this button being pressed while a root canal is being done! I won't go there.
i saw this on the news, i think it is pretty neat to have it =-) last time time i was at the dentist, he was cleaning my teeth and towards the back i wasn't feeling so good, i would have pushed that button, lol =-D
i feel like im the only person not scared of the dentist. i would rather go to the dentist than go to the Dr.
