You know how I know?
Because I've been doing the same thing!
Well, ladies, it's time for us to stop with the bad posture, especially now after reading this article about how sitting up straight gives you more confidence in your own thoughts.
Of course, we already know that good posture has many benefits: It not only helps you look taller and slimmer, boosts energy, and improves digestion, but it also reduces headaches, as well as neck and back pain. And now, new research shows that body posture can affect how we think about ourselves.
More specifically, good posture=more confidence in our thoughts.
In a recent study, participants were asked to write down positive or three negative personal traits relating to how they would perform in a future professional job. Researchers found that people who were told to sit up straight had more confident thoughts about themselves compared to people who slumped over their desks.
So how do you improve your posture? Being aware of your posture throughout the day is key. Certain exercises can help, too: Rowing exercises strengthen the muscles in your upper back, shoulders, and core; and stretches can help to elongate your spine.
