Run, Walk for a Good Cause!

It's hard to stay motivated to exercise! That's why I like to sign up for a charity walk or run each season. Having a goal gets me moving, and I feel energized knowing that I'm helping people and exercising for a good cause. Plus, it's usually a whole lot of fun!

Yesterday, I participated in a 8K fun run benefiting my local pet adoption center. This was a particularly fun one because...


...everyone brought their dogs!!!

Four thousand participants...all of them with their dogs! Can you even imagine? It was a great day!

Still on the fence? Maybe this will convince you. Here are some great reasons for participating in a charity run or walk:

  • Signing up for an official event is great motivation to get in shape.
  • You can help your favorite charity.
  • Participating in a fun run or walk is a great way to meet other walkers and runners in your area.

Popular runs/walks include the Avon Walk, Walk MS, and March of Dimes. Check with your local charitable organizations to see if they are offering any events in your area.
